About Us
The Nerine and Amaryllid Society (NAAS) is an RHS-affiliated society celebrating the remarkable diversity of the Amaryllidaceae family, including Nerines, Agapanthus, Alliums, Daffodils, Hippeastrum and Snowdrops. Originally formed as The Nerine Society, it brings together everyone from professional growers and collectors to enthusiastic amateurs and newcomers who share a love of distinctive bulbous plants.
Who are we?
The Society connects beginners, experienced growers and plant specialists to share knowledge and enthusiasm. We support learning, discussion and exchange, helping members to refine techniques and discover and develop new varieties of Nerines and the wider Amaryllidaceae family.
What do we do?
Members enjoy newsletters, specialist grower visits, Winter and Summer Bulb Exchanges, talks and displays. At our Annual General Meeting, usually held in Oxfordshire in early November, members are able to enter autumn-flowering plants in competition for an award. There is a similar competition online for spring-flowering bulbs.
New developments in breeding may be recognised by The Tony Norris Award.
